Hola!
We are Karo & Marc and we welcome you to the project of our lives, which is also our life project.
The eco-rural country house Mas Campassol, in collaboration with the Fundació Empatia (Empathy Foundation), is a synergy born from the dream of our microworld in which people can enjoy coexistence and learning about nature and the animals that inhabit our shelter and who have been rescued from abuse and abandonment.
Thanks to your accommodation, activities, sponsorships and donations, we can provide a dignified life to the inhabitants of the Empathy Shelter.
The project is born from the conviction that those of us who have been lucky enough to come into this world in favorable conditions must help those who are in vulnerable situations.
It is born from the illusion of being able to change the world a little, sharing our vision of coexistence and the protection of biodiversity.
These are the foundations of Mas Campassol, a farmhouse with a soul.
Our values are:
• Respect for life in all its forms.
• Commitment to nature and its inhabitants, especially the most vulnerable.
• Synergies – with people, organizations and companies with similar values.
• Healthy and restorative bonds between humans, animals and nature.
• Ecology, sustainability and plant nutrition to combat climate change.

For the planet, for the animals, for our health and for social justice, our food is delicious and 100% plant-based.*
At Mas Campassol you can enjoy a wide variety of surprising vegetable products and alternatives that will make you discover that a diet that respects animals and the environment is nutritious, healthy and delicious.
Mas Campassol is the original name of the farmhouse, whose origins date back to the 12th century. It has taken us more than 5 years to restore it with great care and love, always faithful to our double objective of preserving its identity and making it as sustainable and respectful of the environment as possible.

The inhabitants of the Empathy Shelter
Being within a Natural Park, the limitations regarding the number and type of animals are stricter. Unfortunately, there will be fewer than we would like, but we know that all of them enjoy well-being conditions with a life in semi-freedom, thus covering their biological, behavioral and emotional needs.
With your help we will be able to create a pedagogical and awareness-raising project aimed at schools, families and other groups, including vulnerable children. Raising awareness, educating and highlighting the importance of animals in ecosystems and the balance of the planet.
Guided tours of the country house for our guests will take place on Friday afternoons.

Visits to the animals
The animals at the Empathy Shelter are at home and visits may be stressful for some of them. We always put your well-being and peace of mind first and foremost. This is a message that we consider important, both for children and their companions.
Every morning we feed our inhabitants, and our youngest guests – as well as the older ones – are invited to accompany us, respecting some small rules that we will let you know. Ask us if you are interested in our volunteer program.
We can also recommended you places to explore in the area.

*The position of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics of the United States and Canada is that properly planned vegetarian diets, including vegan diets, are healthy, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases. These diets are suitable for all stages of the life cycle and are more environmentally sustainable than diets rich in animal products because they use fewer resources and generate less waste and deforestation.
There is no decision that an ordinary citizen can make that has as much impact as deciding what they eat and, above all, what they do not eat. The plant-based diet implies social, environmental and ethical commitment. It is the only food option that can improve the world.
