Learn more about Mas Campassol Project
In collaboration with the Empatia Foundation, Mas Campassol is developing its project to raise awareness and protect nature and animals, and to promote biodiversity. The heart of the project is the rescued animal and wildlife shelters where they carry out their activities.
On Saturdays at 11 a.m., a tour of the shelters takes place, to which all guests are invited. During high season, this tour also takes place on Wednesdays at the same time.
At Mas Campassol we also think about the wild fauna with which we coexist. For this reason we undertake a flora and fauna conservation project, with direct actions to favor and enrich the habitat we share.
Leaving the hunting ground was our first great measure to protect the fauna, creating forty-three hectares of peace and shelter for the animals, thus transforming the estate into a wild fauna refuge.
We created a gardened area that favors pollinating insects, with true spectacles in spring and summer.
In turn, there is also a flower plantation that produces fruits, thus helping birds, mammals and micromammals.
Over the years, we have naturalized a pond that we built at the beginning of the project and life has come to it in the form of aquatic and aerial insects, amphibians and other beings that together now form a closed ecosystem, which is the jewel of the refuge: the biodiversity pond.
We protect areas of high faunal interest, such as the ponds, restricting the impact of visits and other uses, which can damage the natural dynamics of these areas with high ecological richness.
We build dry stone walls and majanos, these ancestral techniques of agriculture favor biodiversity, providing shelter and an ideal place for the hibernation of multiple species of small fauna, such as insects, reptiles and micromammals, among others.
We place nest boxes of all kinds, favoring tits, bats, raptors and other birds.
The team that makes Mas Campassol possible
‘How can we care for what we don’t appreciate? We want to help people understand and respect nature so we can protect it.’
Mas Campassol is a big family looking forward to welcoming you. Our common goal is to live in a more respectful way with the environment and all beings that live in it.
Awareness is an essential step for change to take place; that is why our first objective is to collaborate in raising society’s awareness.
A project that gathers the effort and work of all these people, and many others as collaborators who help in their day to day to make our planet a place of help, learning and connection with nature; generating close ties between all beings that coexist.

Project
Mas Campassol is part of an educational and awareness-raising project for the protection of nature, animals and biodiversity.
Shelter
A shelter for rescued animals is the heart of the project. We use it for developing social projects for children in vulnerable situations, and educational projects for schools and families.
Respect
Given that caring for the planet is the essence of our activity, we promote environmentally friendly tourism, suitable for a circular and sustainable economy.
Foundation
The profits generated by the lodgings go entirely to Empatía Foundation, whose mission is to care for and raise awareness about animals and nature.
The educational center is called Espai Natura, and it is structured in 4 parts where eco and ethical-educational and awareness-raising activities are carried out:
1.- The shelters, for rescued animals and wildlife.
2.- Shelter for rescued animals.
3.- Atlantic and Mediterranean flora forest.
4.- Workshops on health and protection of nature and biodiversity.
