Our goal is to support biodiversity, so pesticides and herbicides are not allowed. We have innovative water systems for recycling as much water as possible, and we have created wildlife refuges with new water areas for watering holes. Also, we have planted vegetation that favors wildlife feeding, and we have placed nest boxes to counteract the loss of birds’ habitats due to the clearing of trees and the spread of monocultures in the area. Mas Campassol is and must continue being an important stronghold of biodiversity.
Natural Ponds
The land has several ponds, both natural and created by us, which serve as watering places for wild animals and as habitats for insects and amphibians. Two of them are spectacular sources of biodiversity. One is artificial, which we have naturalized over the years to create a wonderful closed ecosystem, and another is natural and hidden, to which we do not grant access for its preservation. Both have notable populations of aquatic insects and amphibians, green and marbled newts, as well as the occasional salamander, a sign of the purity of the water.
Camí de la Guineu
The restored trails and paths are a true treasure for exploring the area’s flora and fauna in a “safe from hunting” environment close to the farmhouse. Accompanied by our adventure backpack and guides, the blend of Atlantic and Mediterranean flora is ideal for exploring the magical surroundings. There are flat trails and others with a steep slope that lead to the viewpoint and explore the mountaintop. A true luxury for nature lovers.
